Salmon, broccoli, asparagus, blueberries, spinach (green leafy veggies) are a few good ones. Everyone has food sensativities and this may play into your diabetes. I would suggest removing breads for awhile, see how things go (this includes pasta). You don’t need bread to survive. After a few weeks reintroduce bread and see what happens to your numbers. I do know you CANT drink sugary drinks, eat cakes and cookies and icecream, it’ll jack your numbers up. So LEARN to get off sugar, reeducate your taste buds to live without it. REmove it from your coffee, remove it from your meal plates, remove salt while y our at it, it isn’t any good for you. I have started Bragg’s book on fasting, and there is helpful information. I’m using apple cider vineger every day, fasting on fridays (yes a diabetic can fast if they are careful), and looking at life with a new attitude. Move around, excercise or walk, cut your meal portion’s in half! Get a few good snacks in a day that won’t jack your sugar up! He drank champagne every lunchtime and more each evening and loved his brandy and rich food, I know there are always exceptions but he is not the only one.My husband drank quite heavily all of his life and only stopped heavily drinking about 5 years ago. We were licencees and very successful, we had to drink as part of our entertainment skills. He also smoked very heavily for many years. He is 76 just and very active and on no meds for anything! But then his mother was 96 when she died and her sister was 98 (also before being a landlord he was a coal miner from 16 and then a policeman.) I think geaneology enters into this stuff.
